Heritage
Bradley Brand Furniture builds in Wilmar and Warren country, Bradley County, Arkansas — the same hardwood landscape that made Warren a mill town. What follows is verified in open sources, with family confirmation still marked where it belongs.
Warren, Arkansas
Mill country since 1901
Safest public claim
Crafted in Warren and Wilmar, Arkansas — home to Bradley Lumber’s hardwood mills since 1901.
We do not claim that Bradley Brand Furniture, LLC is the unbroken corporate successor of Fullerton’s Bradley Lumber Company. The historic mill was sold to Potlatch around 1958. The modern furniture company appears in directories with a 2008 establishment year. What is strong and citable is place and craft continuity: hardwood, oak, furniture stock in the historic product mix, and the Saline River timber geography that still names our work.
Bradley Lumber Company
Verified
- September 1901 — Bradley Lumber Company of Warren created by Samuel Holmes Fullerton of St. Louis.
- Fullerton bought a small existing mill from W. H. Wheeler; Joe L. Reaves, Sr. helped secure timber — explaining the “Bradley” name.
- By 1907 among the world’s large hardwood dealers — ~100,000 board feet/day and ~350 employees alongside Southern Lumber and Arkansas Lumber in Warren.
- Mid-century materials describe soft pine, mild-textured oak, hardwood flooring, furniture stock, pine millwork, and construction materials.
- A diamond BRADLEY BRAND mark appears on historic plant postcard material — visual continuity, not proof of continuous ownership.
Geography
Saline River & the logging railroad
The Warren, Johnsville & Saline River Railroad (incorporated 1905) was an industrial logging road; much of its traffic was forest products from Bradley Lumber interests. In 1920 the Warren & Saline River Railroad took over the property. USDA Forest Service historical work describes hardwood cut in bottoms east of the Saline and Ouachita moving up those lines to Warren.
Product names like Saline Creek and Saline River Workshop echo that geography honestly.
